One of the many highlights is the Birch walk. A new rose garden has been planted to celebrate twenty five years since the first trees were planted. It is a wonderful place to wander or be still. The beauty and perfume here is a feast for the spirit and the soul.
Different plants feature every month providing a new experience for return visitors.
A path from the gardens leads you into Allendale’s own cool temperate rainforest of 26 hectares (65 acres). Of special interest here growing under the filtered light of the tall canopy of blackwood and eucalyptus trees and towering tree fern glades are thirteen varieties of naturally growing fern including one rare endangered species hypolepus distans – the only substantial find in all of Australia.
Devonshire teas are available throughout the day. Fresh scones, homemade jam and local cream!
