The North West Coast of Tasmania is the perfect location to camp or explore in a campervan, motorhome, caravan or tent.

You can choose from campgrounds provided by commercial operators or formal, and informal free camp sites throughout the region. Formal camp sites are listed below with usage requirements at each site, as they do vary.

Camping is welcomed in many areas of the South Arthur Forest and has always been a very popular activity for people of all ages, both visitors and Tasmanians alike including backpackers to the region.

Large numbers of old logging roads and tracks throughout the forest make it possible to find a wealth of special little places where you can pitch a tent and boil the billy in relative seclusion and privacy.

When you do choose to camp on Tasmania's North West Coast, please always take your rubbish with you or place in the bins where they are provided. This protects the region's unique wildlife and will ensure that people after you also have an enjoyable experience camping in our State Forests.

Please remember to tread softly and use rubbish bins provided or take rubbish with you when you leave, protect plants and animals and be considerate of others when camping. Please take a moment to read the CMCA's Code of Conduct
